Without whom none of this would be possible:

I used to claim this site was created in Notepad, but alas, even I have moved with the times and am now using Macromedia's Dreamweaver MX. I've tried Frontpage 2000 and I hate it. Those awful themes! The IE-specific code it insists on writing! I could go on, but you get the drift -- no more <FONT> tags.
Anyway, for those who are interested the menu bar is an SSI (Server-Side Include) so that to add a new page I only have to add a link to one file. There's a bit of Javascript that highlights the page you're currently on (so you don't click on the same link twice), and the hyperlink rollover underline is actually a Cascading Style Sheet option. The whole thing is designed to be functional and easy to maintain, as opposed to delighting the senses. I still think by the standards of most home sites, it's quite funky really.

When I started this years ago I was using Chris Russell's HTML in easy steps, which contains everything you need to know short of style sheets and client-side scripts. Still a very good book I feel, for entry-level use, but since I started working in IT, I've learnt to value O'Reilly as the publishers for the jobbing professional, and I now use Web Design in a Nutshell. Cross-browser compatibility is one of my things, so I've checked this out on Mozilla, Safari and er, Navigator 4.6. It doesn't look great in the latter (what would?), but it's usable.

Click Here to open Supanames.co.uk in a new window....   I've just moved my site from Freeserve to Supanames, who also registered my domain (www.caspergasper.com). So far they're working out OK -- I've paid 50 quid for two years' hosting and registration; around the cheapest you can get, I think.

Oi! where's your pic?
